Customer Review :

This was the easiest way to purchase a tv. Not only was there NO TAX and NO SHIPPING but the delivery guy brought it into the house, brought it upstairs, took it out of the huge box and set it up for me. The tv is beautiful and I love the swivel base. It did not however work with Time Warner Cable tv so I switched to AT&T UVerse and it works just fine. Toshiba said that the tv is not compatible with certain cable boxes. I love the features on the tv. Amazon has it going on!!!

Customer Review :

While this is my first HDTV I did do a lot of shopping around and checked out a bunch of tv's before I set my heart on this one. The 42xv545u is a 1080p 120hz tv that is very affordable! The color is amazing and so far I've had no problems with it besides a dinky hdmi cable.
SD channels are so so and not great quality and the upscaling technology basically sharpens the image but it can only do so much. Any HD content looks breathtaking and no lag present.
I am currently using a PS3 and comcast for my HD needs. Even with comcasts compression on HD channels the picture still looks pretty good. I recently watched Resident Evil Degeneration on Blu-Ray and it was crystal clear!
The only gripes I would have to throw out there would be that there is no picture-in-picture on this set, and even though the tv remembers your video settings for each input; it does not save "game mode" for any input. So every day when I turn on my ps3 I have to go to the menu and select game made. It doesn't sound like much but when you do it everyday it kind of gets annoying.
So all in all I am VERY happy with this purchase and I recommend anyone that's on the fence about this set to definitely buy it!

UPDATE: It is now September 11th about 7 months owned now and it still works exactly like the day I first received it. price dropped by 200 dollars from when I bought this tv so I would still recommend this tv highly!

Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB Review

The Toshiba 37RV635DB LCD Television offers the latest technology. It looks good and produces clear, rich, sharp images for your viewing pleasure.

Word has got around about the superb resolution of this Toshiba TV, and it is becoming very popular. Consumer reviews are most favourable; in fact, it is hard to find a negative review. Customer comments include: "very easy to set up"; "crystal clear picture"; "very good value for money"; "would recommend it at this price"; "crisper and brighter than I have had before"; "has an awesome guide".

Toshiba has cleverly combined superb picture and audio quality with a fashionable black gloss design. The 37 inch HD panel is presented as an amazingly slim package that is lightweight as well. The TV can be attached to the wall by means of the specially designed wall bracket or it can be used as a tabletop model. The stand for the tabletop model allows the set to swivel, making it easily adaptable to any situation.

The LCD screen delivers a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768, and uses a progressive scanning system. This feature gives a larger and clearer image at the standard HD of 720p. A high quality of viewing experience is achieved with bright, vivid colors and smooth motion during sequences that feature fast action. The TV features multiple settings to help you optimize the picture in different environments; these include movie, standard and dynamic.

The Auto View function is a light sensor that constantly analyses the picture content and the amount of light in the room, and adjusts the backlight to suit. In a light room, the color density and backlight increases and when the room is dark, they decrease, to allow comfortable viewing at all times. The Wide Color Enhancer 2 feature serves to improve the color contrast.

The Toshiba 37RV635DB has multiple connectivity options and the sound is covered by a stereo arrangement of two, 20 watt speakers to produce SRS TruSurround effects. There is also a Dolby Digital decoder to enhance the sound production. The Meta Brain is Toshiba's uniquely-developed processing chip that is the brains of the television. It drives certain exclusive features, like the Resolution+, which instantly enhances standard picture definition to up-scale it to close to high definition quality by improving the texture and edge detail.

The menu is straight forward and easy to operate. The advanced options can be hidden away until you need to adjust them. When you want to adjust some aspect of the picture, the main menu screen is reduced and appears at the lower corner of the screen. This allows you to view the full picture and see how the adjustments are changing it.

We are all more conscious about environmental issues these days, and it is good to see that Toshiba has also taken up the challenge. The LCD panel is designed to use less power than other LCD televisions on the market today, by implementing an eco-panel. This uses up to 45% less power but still produces a high quality picture. This green technology not only saves you money; it helps the environment as well.

This Toshiba 37RV635DB model is fully HD 1080p-ready. Most countries have set a date for the end of analogue transmitters, and the age of digital TV has become the reality. Digital TV offers increased channels and other features and services which will enhance your television enjoyment.

Customer Review :

Out of the box this TV is a beauty. It is heavier than most slim-design models so be sure to have a friend or partner ready to help.

Set up is easy - plug in, tweak a few menu settings and you are ready to watch some great TV. I am pleased with the picture quality of SD and HD channels. The TheatreWide feature makes action movies come to life; it is even great for every day viewing save for slight distortion on the edges of the picture.

Note that the screen is not matte - has a very shiny surface so probably not a good fit for a sunny room. I have it in a room with a large sliding glass door and window - no problems for my preference.

The sound is good - I can have it turned up to a good volume to enjoy a movie or sports and it isn't blasting throughout the whole house.

Overall I really, really like this TV - cresting on loving it.

Now on to the negative: it is now May 11 and I have finally had this TV for a whole week now. Mind you I ordered it on MARCH 7TH; yes M-A-R-C-H.
The first unit delivered was damaged in transit and had to be shipped back to the seller buy.com who is in California. The shipping alone took one week each way then another 3 day processing time for them to pull a replacement TV to ship ... back to the midwest 7 days later.
2nd TV - a LEMON. When you turned it on there was a 7 second delay - 10 seconds of picture - then turned itself off for 20 seconds - then back on. Every so-often there would be no picture at all - not even to see the menu or input options - this was fixed by unplugging the unit & plugging it back in per instruction of a Toshiba tech.
The audio either didn't work or had a significant delay which replicated an echo chamber. Buy.com sent instructions for the manufacturer to process a replacement and arrange for pick up - which took another week.
I have two other Toshiba TVs that have been great (a 27" digital that is now 10 years old; a 19" analog that has to be nearly 20) and in my experience has longevity so I was surprised by this faulty unit.
With this 2nd TV / lemon - [...] consented to start the replacement process once the TV was in the shippers possession vs. waiting another week until it was returned to their warehouse. Hello - thank you!
This was the biggest regret for buying online - that there was no brick & mortar store to deal with locally and returns had to go through the shipping game. All & all this hassle of saved me 0-0 from buying from a store. You decide if it is worth it to you.
